Description:

The 4460-D Shield Bond Connector is a downsized version of the 4460 shield bond connector. Suitable for 100-pair or less and can be used on all cable with 20.3 mm (0.8") or smaller O.D.

Its current-carrying capacity is equal to or better than aluminum-shielded cables of 100-pair or less and can be used on all cables with 20.3 mm (0.8") or smaller O.D.

Installation

Connecting cable shields To connect the cable screens to the kits, there are 4460D connectors and an insulated screen wire. Insert the base of the shield connector under the cable sheath, between the shield and the waist insulation of the cable until it stops in the sheath of the sheath. Expand the screen wire along the cable . If the outer diameter of the cable is less than 20 mm, cut a shell 25 mm long from the diametrically opposed side of the screen connector . Attach the cover to the base screw. Tighten both parts with one nut. Perform similar operations on the second spliced ​​end. This 4460-D Shield Bond connector can be used for both solid/Single or double sheath copper cables.The cable must be firstly cut the shield flush with the sheath,and then tabbed with a 1"(25mm) slit on the side of the sheath opposite the connector,to ease insertion and to avoid conductor damage.

Then insert the connect base between the shield and core wrap,or inner sheath for double sheath cable,until the connector stops to meet the outer sheath.Tap the sheath above the connector base to set teeth (with Tabbing Shears).Then put the connector top,Nut,if the bond braid or additional grounding or bonding hardware is used,install it above the first nut and secure it with the additional nut.Torque the nuts to 35-45 inch-lgs (4.0-5.2kgm) with tool( with 3/8" Terminal Wrench).
